Portronics Konnect X USB to Type-C Cable Review
A charging cable is something we use almost every day, so a good one needs to be more than just functional. It should be long enough for convenient use, support reliable charging and data transfer, and have a sturdy build that can handle regular bending and carrying. The Portronics Konnect X USB to Type-C Cable is a 1-metre cable designed for Type-C smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices. With 3A charging support, data transfer, nylon braiding, and aluminium connector shells, it focuses on the features most people need from an everyday cable.
3A Fast Charging Support
The Konnect X supports up to 3A output, allowing it to provide fast charging when connected to a compatible charger and device. This can make it useful as a replacement or additional cable for phones, tablets, power banks, and other USB-C gadgets.
Actual charging speed will depend on your wall adapter and the charging standards supported by your device. A cable alone cannot make a phone charge faster than its maximum supported rate.
Charging and Data Transfer in One Cable
This is not limited to charging. The cable also supports data transfer at speeds up to 480 Mbps, allowing you to move photos, documents, videos, and other files between compatible USB and Type-C devices.
That makes it useful for connecting a smartphone to a laptop or desktop when you need both charging and file transfer from the same cable.
Nylon-Braided Construction
One of the more practical features is the nylon-braided exterior.Charging cables are frequently twisted, folded, and stored in bags, so the outer covering can make a noticeable difference in everyday use. The braided design is intended to provide additional protection against regular wear while also helping reduce tangling.
The connectors use aluminium shells, giving the ends a more solid finish than basic plastic connector housings.
Convenient 1-Metre Length
At 1 metre long, the cable offers a useful balance between reach and portability. It is suitable for common situations such as:
- Charging beside a bed or desk
- Connecting a phone to a computer
- Using a power bank while travelling
- Charging inside a car
- Keeping an extra cable in an office or backpack
What We Like

Things to Consider
Although the cable supports 3A charging, the actual speed depends on the charger and connected device. If your phone requires a different fast-charging protocol or a higher-power USB-C to USB-C connection, this particular cable may not provide the maximum charging speed available to that device. It is also important to remember that this is a USB-A to USB-C cable, so it will not connect directly to chargers or laptops that provide only USB-C ports.
Checking the ports on both your charger and device before buying will help avoid compatibility issues.
Final Thoughts
The Portronics Konnect X USB to Type-C Cable is a straightforward option for everyday charging and file transfers. Its 3A output, 480 Mbps data-transfer support, braided exterior, aluminium connector shells, and convenient 1-metre length cover most of the essentials expected from a regular USB-C cable.
If you need an additional or replacement USB-A to Type-C cable for a compatible smartphone, tablet, power bank, or other device, the Konnect X is worth considering.
